Although I… Show more As a primary care sports medicine physician, I specialize in all aspects of medicine as they relate to the athlete, sports, and an active lifestyle. The emphasis of my care is on musculoskeletal and orthopedic injuries but also to a lesser degree medical conditions that affect the wellbeing of the athlete. Whether caring for an acute injury or a chronic or overuse injury, a primary care sports medicine physician has the expertise to evaluate the injury and develop a plan of care. Although I have significant knowledge of and experience with surgical treatments, my approach to treatment is primarilty nonsurgical. With an emphasis on rehabilitation modalities and techniques and the use of casting, bracing, or injections as needed, the goal is to return the athlete or active individual to his or her previous level of activity and to know when surgery is necessary to achieve that goal. I work very closely with the orthopedic surgeons, therapists, athletic trainers, and other specialists here to guarantee optimal care. Show less
