Directed cash flow for projects, led the overall department and controlled a US$500m budget. Managed 6 staff, reported to the General Director. Built shopping centre management teams, overseeing initial interviews and recruitment functions as well as conducting training for customer service and sales techniques. • Initiated takeover of the leasing process as Capital Partners had failed to fill leasing space in an Astana, Kazakhstan shopping centre (only 33% full) with less than 6 months until the centre’s grand opening. Liaised with department heads to understand processes and requirements; established an internal retail department and introduced reporting / communication strategies; secured buy-in for key operational changes; and developed / negotiated leases with tenants. Successfully leased 100% of the space for the centre’s grand opening while helping retailers penetrate a new market and capture additional retail business.• Completed a US$340m shopping centre project, consisting of 160 shops within 52,000m² of leasable area, by securing luxury retailers such as Louis Vuitton, SAKS 5th Avenue, Gucci, DIOR and Burberry. Helped the company secure a reputation as the best retail developer in Kazakhstan.• Re-defined the centre’s positioning and leasing strategy as well as secured tenants as Capital Partners struggled to fill space in a mass-market shopping centre and faced financial difficulties. Reviewed and re-structured the centre’s existing layout and strategy; teamed with stakeholders to re-position the centre from a mass-market centre to a combined mass-market / luxury shopping centre; developed and negotiated contracts for lease; and established management for the centre. Leased 87% of retail complex space with 13% ROI, earning a superior reputation.
