SSE's role is supposed to be solely as a "hunter"​ and to grow revenue organically. Transactions include complex negotiations and longer sales cycles with multiple service lines, and multiple platforms. With recent acquisition of Shred-it, an additional duty of the SSE currently is that of account manager; which requires the additional duties of contract manager, quarterly business reviews, service and billing related issues/ objectives & future initiatives, and the overall well being of the healthcare national accounts.
