As 'SESAR Development Manager' I am responsible for:»'Single European Sky (SES)' and 'Single European Sky (SES) Air Traffic Management (ATM) Research (SESAR)' compliance at Brussels Airport» 'Single European Sky (SES)' and 'Single European Sky (SES) Air Traffic Management (ATM) Research (SESAR)' business partnering: liaising with the 'European Commission (EC)', the 'European Climate, Environment and Infrastructure Executive Agency (CINEA)', 'SESAR Joint Undertaking (SJU)', 'SESAR Development Manager (SDM)', EUROCONTROL, the 'Network Manager (NM)', the 'Belgian Civil Aviation Authorities (BCAA)', 'Airports Council International (ACI) Europe', etc.» SESAR development and deployment project management» Improvement management through the provision of expert advice to internal and external projects, working groups, task forces, etc. on compliance, (aviation) safety and capacity of the aerodrome; leading and/or participation to official working groups, task forces, etc.; contribution to the identification and implementation of changes, the training and proficiency check programme and aviation safety communication & awareness.

As ‘Expert Aerodrome Operations’ I am involved in the following activities:» Operational Risk Management (ORM), acting as a central role in the Aviation Safety Management System (SMS) framework as defined by ICAO and EASA, by management of change, delivery of risk assessments and mitigation strategies, providing advice to operational managers and staff in the domain of aerodrome operations and safety, training & proficiency checking, coaching and supporting continuous improvement of the Safety Management System» Follow-up of the current and forthcoming regulations and projects in the context of the 'Single-European-Sky ATM Research (SESAR)' project with focus on further modernization, sustainability, operational efficiency and aviation safety

As Airside Services Deputy-Manager I was involved in the following activities:» Operational leadership/management of a team of Airside Services Inspectors, Airside Support Agents and Bird & Wildlife Controllers (operational service 24h/7d);» Manage and/or execute internal and external communication/debriefing/information meetings (e.g. daily internal operational briefing, daily meteo briefings) in cooperation with the airport community stakeholders;» Manage and/or execute processes and procedures with respect to the availability of the airport infrastructure taken into account the safety, capacity and efficiency of the (airside) operations;» Manage and/or execute processes and procedures in the context of adverse weather conditions (e.g. low visibility, snow removal and surface de-icing)» Manage and/or execute processes and procedures with respect to infringements of national and international aviation laws (e.g. noise regulation);» Coordination and/or support of the operations in case of accidents or incidents at or in the neighborhood of the airport;» Manage and/or execute processes and procedures with respect to administrative support, and;» In case of absence, takes the responsibility of the Head of Airside Services and/or Director of Operations.

As Planning & Simulation Manager I was involved in the following activities:» Analysis and assessment of the impact of several construction projects on the operational efficiency of passenger, baggage and aircraft processes by means of ARCport ALTO (*) software and "Microsoft Office Excel"-models;» Development and execution of several models for the analysis and optimisation of the airport operational processes;» The analysis, iterative development and transfer into operations of a "Check-in Desks Allotment System" developed by QuintiQ (**);» The analysis and iterative development of a "Stand & Gate Allocation System" (both for planning & real-time operations) developed by QuintiQ (**), and;» “Airport - Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM)”: 1) Development and execution of operational test procedures for the display of the „Target Off-Block Time (TOBT)‟ and the „Target Start-Up Approval Time (TSAT)‟ via the display units of the „Docking Guidance Systems (DGSs)‟; 2) Development and execution of system-to-system tests in the context of the implementation of TOBT/TSAT; 3) Review and development of an improved TOBT/TSAT procedure; 4) Development and implementation of several processes and procedures related to the implementation of “Airport - Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM)”, and; 5) Development, implementation and coaching of a program/project management methodology in the context of the implementation of “Airport - Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM)”.* ARCport ALTO is commercial software that allows model and scenario development for terminal, landside, airside and on-board master and operational planning.** QuintiQ is a software company that provides advanced planning, scheduling and supply chain optimisation solutions for targeted markets.
