Erik is a senior consultant geologist with experience in exploration, resource definition and database management. He has worked with a variety of commodities, among which gold, copper, nickel, tin, coltan, heavy mineral sands and polymetallic deepsea nodules. He has worked in various geological settings in Australia, East & West Africa and Sweden and specialises in pXRF-based programmes and wireline data interpretation. Erik holds a Master's degree in Earth Science from the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, The Netherlands and is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM), the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, the Order of Geologists of Quebec and the Dutch Geological Society.   Worked as a consultant geologist on various exploration and resource definition drill programmes targeting a variety of commodities in Western Australia, Queensland, Western Africa, Eastern Canada and Arctic Sweden. Commodities worked with include lode and alluvial gold, copper-iron, nickel, tin-tungsten and columbite-tantalite. Main duties comprised managing drilling and exploration programmes. Formed an integral part of a historical data assessment and clean-up with the aim to produce a new resource model of a gold deposit in Ghana and set up a new geological database. Designed and managed a large scale (20000+ samples) pXRF-based soil sampling and trenching programme in Rwanda. Has experience with artisanal and small scale mining in Africa. Worked on a pXRF-based grade-control programme in the Philippines and resource estimations of deep-sea nodule deposits in the Clarion-Clipperton Zone. Well-versed in the use of WellCAD and wireline data interpretation. Has a very solid background in QA/QC, reviewing, designing and implementing QA/QC programmes and drafting SOPs.
