As a member of CEA's management team, I supervise staff in the Government Relations and Communications departments. I also oversee and manage all of the Political Affairs (legislative, electoral, and policy) and Communications programs.- Provide strategic direction for the state's largest union, collaborating with staff and the management team to develop programs and strategies to build the power of the union and advance the goals of the political and communications programs - Lead CEA‘s political program, including legislative and electoral strategies. Manage lobbying, member engagement in legislative session, polling and research, policy development, and school board, legislative, and ballot measure campaigns- Lead CEA’s communications program, including building strategic communications plans for the organization, campaigns, and programs. Manage CEA’s PR Firms (media relations and graphic design)- Direct, develop, coach, and evaluate 9Government Affairs and Communications staff.- Focus on problem solving and overcoming challenges and barriers to achieve organizational goals. Support CEA’s diversity, equity, and inclusion goals, including serving on our internal equity committee and leading the creation of an equity onboarding curriculum- Translate the vision of governance and leaders into effective programs and foster effective communication and information sharing. Collaborate with program and field staff to ensure alignment, focus, and coordination of CEA program work - Work with staff, management, and governance to promote a collaborative and positive workplace culture through the lens of social justice practices

- Led online and on-the-ground organizing, leadership development, story collection, earned and social media, and policy support for paid family and medical campaigns in CO, NM, AZ, NV, MT - Served on the Colorado FAMLI Act Executive Committee, bringing MomsRising stories, member involvement, social media, campaign strategy and support, lobbying, and other expertise to local efforts to pass paid family and medical leave in Colorado - Provided technical assistance and national resources to local and state paid family and medical leave campaigns across the country - Represented MomsRising in local, state, and national coalitions related to workplace justice, work/family flexibility, and paid family and medical leave - Led MomsRising's 2018 c3 electoral and civic engagement programming in Florida and c4 electoral programming in Colorado

- Designed and managed grassroots organizing efforts and policy campaigns, including: planning and implementing strategic legislative and electoral campaigns based on 9to5’s priority issues, building and leading 9to5-led coalitions, and directing chapter involvement in campaigns led by partner organization and in collaborative efforts - Expanded 9to5’s civic engagement program, including: designing comprehensive election programs for the chapter, incorporating canvass, mail, phones, and experimentation into programs; leading collaborative field programs through the Colorado Civic Engagement Roundtable; and designing experiments for 9to5’s civic engagement programs to learn about effective membership recruitment messages and utilizing issue messages in combination with GOTV messages - Developed and implemented comprehensive fundraising plan, including: grant writing, earned income, and grassroots fundraising. Over 5 years, increased chapter budget by over 100% and increased income from individual donations by over 300%. - Led 9to5’s grassroots efforts to pass/defeat policies at the legislature, including: coalition-building, leading coalition meetings, targeting outreach to key legislative districts, collecting postcards and member stories, identifying and coaching member spokespeople, coordinating lobby days, and planning campaign kick-off rallies and press conferences - Led successful electoral field efforts in 2008 and 2009, including: planning and executing field programs to reach 25,000 voters, creating a budget, hiring and managing canvassers, identifying voter base and treatment, implementing membership and turnout experiments, preparing for daily canvasses, and tracking and reporting progress and data - Updated website, posted news articles, stories, and events to the website, designed literature and flyers, and monitored and updated blog and social networking sites - Increased membership, engaged members in mission and work, helped plan member meetings, assisted in planning our national Annual Leadership Conference, and aided in leadership development for members and board members - Managed office technology needs, including computer maintenance and upgrades

- Coordinated two leadership programs, the Women’s Community Leadership Initiative, targeting 25 women of modest means, and Leadership NOW!, for 30 young professionals ages 22-32, including: management of volunteer steering committees; setting locations and speakers; communication with class members; evaluations; class selection process; curriculum improvement/enhancement; and various other duties- Organized silent and live auction for annual fundraising event, raising $15,000 in 2008- Developed grant proposals and reports, generating $20,000 in grant support in 2008

- Organized election activities, such as get-out-the-vote, phone banks and canvasses, and recruiting volunteers, and aided the Referendum I campaign with their local efforts- Maintained Citizens Project’s website, created and sent all email alerts, newsletters and letters to legislators, managed email member lists, adding over 200 new online members- Led the Pikes Peak Equality Coalition and represented CP within the coalition- Authored and edited bi-monthly Freedom Watch columns
