As a member of the Board of Trustees, I had an active input as to the strategic oversight of a charitable body with consistently growing trading subsidiaries.

This is a voluntary role I was elected into by my peers. I am the link between students and the school and work to make the best situation possible for both in many aspects of the Law School. Some of my roles include:-Sitting on various University Committees-Co-chairing committees with a member of staff- Helping with course rep election nominations - Organising course reps and encouraging them to have an active role- Liaising with staff

Having been elected as president of the Law Society, I lead a large committee of volunteers to provide careers events and information, competitions (including mooting, negotiation, client interviewing and debating), social and networking events and more to our members. We dedicated time to raise money for the Law works and Bar Pro Bono Unit Law School Challenge.

I was elected into this role by the members of the University of Lincoln Law society. Making up one third of the executive committee, we work together to manage our committee made up of 25 other students.The society offers a range of activities to its members. This includes networking opportunities and careers advice to competitions to improve advocacy skills. This year we have explored new areas by increasing the competitions we offer and starting charity work for a legal aid charity.

The role of the Mooting Assistant within the University of Lincoln Law Society is to aid the Mooting Officer where possible. This is usually adminisrative jobs and organising but extends to helping coach competitors with their scenarios and developing their advocacy skills. With multiple externals running at time, organisation and efficiency was key. We also held the annual internal Stone Shield Mooting Competition. As well as holding workshops to prepare competitors, I helped the smooth running of the competitions and clerked from the first round all the way through to the final. Being involved in both external and internal mooting competitions meant I gained a lot of experience of interpreting convoluted scenarios and experienced many different mooting styles which has shaped my own advocacy skills somewhat.
