PowerAdvocate is now part of WoodMackenzie and is the new Supply Chain Consulting group. As a leader in the group, I support our teams in assisting clients with supply chain activities. As a leader and subject matter expert in renewable energy, my focus is supporting procurement strategies and execution of renewable projects.

Manage and direct PowerAdvocate teams on various client strategic sourcing engagements. Engagements included: utility spend analysis, AQCS environmental upgrades, nuclear power plant construction, wind construction projects, solar construction projects, gas turbine cogeneration projects and a fuel cell installation project. Maintain client relationships and develop revenue opportunities. Provide technical and strategic support to sales and marketing and guide employee development via internal training and performance reviews.

Led strategic direction for VEIC's consultative services which included consulting, engineering, EM&V and transportation efficiency divisions. Hired, directed, and managed senior-level staff. Provided overall direction to staff work on projects that analyze energy efficiency and renewable energy markets, programs, and policies; client base was national and international. Led marketing and business development efforts for new projects and market segments, including developing and maintaining relationships with key clients and business partners.

Responsible for managing planning efforts for energy efficiency projects for a wide variety of customer including state energy office and utilities. Currently supporting the development and maintenance of statewide technical reference manuals. Provide guidance and support within VEIC consulting division for project management, estimating support and business process development.

Work with clients to develop scope, work plan, and implementation activities for customer programs to help them drive savings throughout supply chain. We do this by working with customers to source complex engineered equipment and helping them structure complex bid events using PowerAdvocate’s sourcing software.

Duties include setting department direction and ensuring alignment with overall corporate strategy, developing department process and procedures, resource allocation, reviewing engineering documents for technical compliance, ensuring engineering quality, and developing and monitoring department budgets. Additionally, I provide input to sales and proposal pricing and resources for both product development and field service support. Owing to the size of the company, the manager position was a billable role therefore additional activies included project engineering support for various remote power and combined heat/power projects. As a project engineer I managed the project technical team, ensured client requirements were implemented in the project design, maintained the project engineering budget, and developed technical project change orders. I also worked with Northern’s project management, production and construction teams to communicate the technical requirements of the projects.

Proposal Manager for a combined cycle plant proposal effort. Duties included developing performance heat balances, estimating engineering labor, creating/reviewing specifications for capital equipment, designing system flow sheets and directing the development of 3D AutoCad models. Additional tasks included job scheduling and tracking costs, creation of engineering deliverables, providing construction support and start-up support. Various other engineering tasks at AEP ProServ included development of Gate Cycle models to support performance testing, proposal heat balances using GT Pro, preparation of equipment specifications and the development of internal EPC event models and process maps. Among my non-engineering activities at AEP ProServ was the installation and startup of the Axium accounting system and development of business process maps.
