Responsible for teaching 7th grade students reading and writing as well as other core skills needed in the future.

As an Assistant Swim Coach I instructed children ages 4-14 for 8 weeks. I assisted in running practices five times a week for 60 swimmers. I assisted in leading team at 10 swim meets every Summer. Additionally, I used a motivational approach to help children become confident swimmers and develop their stroke technique.

I trained 7 new lifeguards. I promoted a safe environment for swimming through policy enforcement. I improved overall safety and conduct through enforcing lifeguards to follow policies.

7th Grade Language ArtsI promoted analytical thinking through argumentative writing and group discussions. During my instruction I employed differentiated instruction to address student learning styles and abilities. I used opinion based questions to prepare students for essay questions on the NJ ASK. While student teaching I developed a unit on Argumentative Writing to prepare them for the NJ ASK as well as High School and College. I promoted a safe environment for sharing ideas. Additionally, I promoted analytical thinking through Do Nows, Exit Slips, essays, worksheets, and other classroom tools.
