I participated in the IES Summer Internship Abroad Program in Dublin, Ireland. I was given the opportunity to work in the heart of the city 4 days a week. At MaplesFS, I worked in the fund administration division where I was able to complete many different tasks. I gained experience working with investors, and aiding in their subscription to, and redemption from various funds. I helped create, and edit, over 200 documents regarding investor compliance with The Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, and the Common Reporting Standard. Lastly, I assisted with the liquidation of a fund with more than 500 investors. Working abroad pushed me outside of my comfort zone, and helped me learn more about international business. Working in Dublin is completely different than working in the States, and having the chance to experience this directly was a great lesson. MaplesFS helped me grow as an employee, and as a student. I cannot thank them enough for their hospitality, and their guidance throughout my time abroad.
