As a University of Saskatchewan graduate with a degree in Animal Science I have held various jobs within the agriculture sector, as well as within bylaw enforcement. My interests have always driven me towards pursuing employment within the Agriculture Industry involving livestock or in an area of animal conservation and research. My previous job with Saskatoon Animal Control was outside of my original focus, and it allowed me to work first hand with the public and help improve the human-animal relationships within the urban setting. In March 2015, I moved back to the West Coast and began working as an independent dairy welfare inspector. My knowledge and experience pertaining to dairy welfare and facility design have grown over the past year, and I strive to stay informed about new dairy technology and emerging research to better assist producers seeking to improve welfare and cow comfort on their dairies. I took a position as a Provincial Dairy Tech for the BC Ministry of Agriculture in 2016, and worked with producers to improve milk safety and quality, and animal welfare, on their dairies.I completed my Masters in Animal Welfare Sciences, Ethics, and Law in the fall of 2019, from the University of Glasgow.
