“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.” - Albert EinsteinI have developed my expertise in curriculum and instruction with a focus on Mathematics and Reading. As the secretary of the Ontario Society of Environmental Educators, I developed programs with environmental leaders, which supported environmental education across the curriculum. I have attended The Curriculum, Assessment and Student Success Policy Branch Association Review meetings and had the opportunity to engage in dialogue about the curriculum refresh. I have created and presented workshops on EQAO, Environmental Education, the elements of a robust Teaching and Learning Collaborative Inquiry, Integrated Curriculum, provincial and board ESL policies, Critical Literacy and Critical Thinking, The Arts, Supporting English Language Learners across the curriculum, and parent workshops on helping children experience success at school. I have enjoyed extremely wide-ranging experiences working to facilitate and plan workshops, programs, and lessons with teams comprised of community members, Early Literacy Teachers, Literacy Coaches, Classroom Teachers, Speech Pathologists, Resource Teachers and administrators. Through this work, I have developed a deeper understanding of best teaching practices that meet the needs of all children. Throughout my teaching career, I have demonstrated an inclusive approach to working with students, parents, colleagues, and members of the community. I have assumed a leadership role in developing inclusive and diverse pedagogy which honours the unique needs of each child. I have been a mentor to teacher candidates from both Brock and York Universities. I have also been a clinical facilitator and evaluator for a private college. My experiences will be an asset to any educational program.
