I started off as a research engineer at Galois, doing work in theoretical mathematics, numerical computation and computer science. Over the course of my time there, I slowly switched into a project leadership role managing contracts up to $4M in a single phase of research while still consulting on the occasional math problem. As part of my project leadership role, I was responsible for making sure we got the client what they really needed after deep conversations starting with that they wanted. I was also responsible for making sure that the people working on my projects were happy, enjoying the work they were doing and getting opportunities for professional development. If someone did not enjoy the work that they were doing, I would help them find another project to work on. As one of the senior project leads at Galois, I also mentored new project leads on running research projects, managing the team and using the various tools.

I lead a team of engineers responsible for analysis software on Windows and Linux products. I have experience working with C, C++/C++11, analysis algorithms, and parsers, including arbitrary expression parsers. My responsibilities include coordinating and planning work with other teams (including overseas), marketing, and management; investigating ways to improve code quality; helping to lead adoption of agile practices; mentoring engineers; task estimation and requirements gathering.Previous products include performance oscilloscope firmware and TekScope Anywhere.

Created custom build system using VMware and various web technologies. System could be modified to include new build servers on the fly. Build queue could be edited by engineers. Queue modifications and build statuses logged for full traceability.

Researched how agile practices could be incorporated into Xerox's software development workflow. Worked with team to adapt their process and wrote a white paper with recommendations. Adapted process is still in use.
