As the Director, Supply Chain Operations, I was accountable for overseeing the Supply Chain Operations teams across Canada, leading a team of 200 employees. One of my key responsibilities was ensuring national health and safety, including conducting risk assessments, and implementing streamlined national health and safety programs.In addition, I was responsible for the overall hiring, onboarding, and employee development of a national team, which included managers, supervisors, team leads, project managers, business analysts, administrative support, and front-line employees. Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders was crucial in my role. I worked closely with them to review and improve business needs, focusing on efficiency, employee engagement, and safety.To enhance our change management approaches, I engaged and collaborated closely with a consultant. This allowed us to effectively navigate and implement changes within the organization.Overall, my role as the Directory, Supply Chain Operations required strong leadership, accountability, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. In this role as National Supply Chain Manager, I became responsible for overseeing all the warehouse teams across the country, as well as streamlining business processes and support structures.As a leader of leaders, I successfully led a team of supervisors, elevating my leadership skills to inspire them to lead with compassion and integrity while achieving our business goals. One of my key responsibilities was implementing and teaching new procedures to improve and streamline all supply chain processes on a national level. Recognizing the need for a comprehensive approach, the team introduced, implemented, and taught the concepts of Knowledge Management, Risk Management, and Change Management across the supply chain teams. This allowed us to enhance our overall performance and adapt to evolving business needs.To support the learning and development goals of the national team, the team also designed and delivered in-person and virtual workshops. Nationally we implemented visual management tools such as Kanban boards and 5S methodology to promote organization, standardization, and visual communication throughout the supply chain. These tools helped to create a visual representation of our processes, making it easier to identify and address any issues or inefficiencies.Overall, my role as a manager required strong leadership, change management expertise, and a commitment to driving process improvements. Through my efforts, I successfully led a team of supervisors, implemented new procedures, introduced comprehensive concepts, and facilitated continuous learning and development for the national team.
