Erin Grossi leads Accenture’s electric mobility (eMobility) and supporting energy systems innovation teams within the firm’s Strategy & Consulting practice for North America. In this role, Dr. Grossi harnesses a variety of strategic and technical talents to help clients with their eMobility aspirations, EV business-development prospects, and growth initiatives tied to developing new, distributed energy systems. Dr. Grossi works across clients in the Utilities, Oil & Gas, Industrials, Automotive, Retail and Insurance industries, and often partners with leaders in the Innovation and Sustainability practices to bring end-to-end strategic and technical implementation talents to clients. Dr. Grossi is proficient with the federal and regulatory aspects of energy systems innovation and helps clients navigate related opportunities and challenges to achieve growth targets.

UL's first-ever Chief Economist and Managed Corp. Innovation Leader in its 125 year history of developing electrical energy-safety science. Dr. Grossi served as the Chief Innovation Strategist, analyzing and breaking down macro-trends of importance to the enterprise, and providing insights & usable intelligence for executives on market dynamics, threats & future growth opportunities. Erin regularly coached and engaged a variety of teams across UL to develop a range of new venture approaches & projects. Erin was instrumental in developing the company's overall structure and approach to corporate innovation (both organic and M&A) across multiple industries. Dr. Grossi also led a research team investigating commercial relevance of the convergence of macro-trends, including Sustainability, Renewable Energy, Health & Wellness, and the impacts on industrial development in a variety of sectors.In 2015, Dr. Grossi published a White Paper entitled, "Putting the Pieces Together: Transition and Transformation in Global Energy Markets" to describe the energy transformation taking place in Germany and its impact on the future development of global markets. The work was translated into eight different languages (German, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, Portuguese, Chinese, Thai) and disseminated globally at distinguished speaking events, and in a variety of national and international news media. Dr. Grossi was included in Midwest Energy News' "40 Under 40" cohort in 2016, which recognizes thought leaders developing the clean energy economy of the future. She also served as an Executive-in-Residence with the Energy Foundry of Chicago, IL. In 2014, Erin led a similar research effort and media campaign around her economic work on sustainable building and global shifts to high-performance building assessments. That work, entitled "Dawn of the Building Performance Era," garnered significant global industry and media attention.

Responsible for developing a Corporate, Managed approach to organic Innovation for UL (a global services provider). Launched processes and tools across the global enterprise to speed development and launch of new products and services. Organized and convened governance structures within the organization to oversee and manage the development of new offerings in a variety of ways.Erin's approach to leadership focused on fostering a corporate culture of innovation and higher-performance business development, improving strategic innovation and business acumen among both executives and staff.Member of the enterprise strategic team assessing and executing a large series of acquisitions made over several years (45 over 5 years), including related integration strategy and execution.

Developed and lobbied for UL’s trade policy positions with the US Trade Representative’s Office and the US Commerce Department and US Congress. Created and supported the execution of international government affairs strategies to build UL’s network and brand awareness in the 28 countries where the company has a physical presence, and to achieve local market access for key industry sectors. Represented UL as liaison and presenter at a variety of international forums.

Provided international trade analysis and support for a variety of EU competition law cases and antitrust cases involving transnational mergers. Assisted the development of legal briefs, including several for the US Supreme Court. Provided overall case management for a successful defense of a merger between two major railroads in federal district court.

Worked with founders to establish the Committee agenda and topics of focus to support the International Financial Institutions (IMF, World Bank, Word Trade Organization). Organized and recruited world-class speakers for Committee seminars and summits on a variety of salient topics related to international development and trade. Solicited opinion pieces from international policy and economic luminaries, edited and published them for consumption by IFI policymakers. Authored materials to explain and support the work of the World Bank’s International Development Association and the International Finance Corporation.

Legislative consultant to banks and brokerages. Provided analysis and advice on a range of issues, including Basel II implementation. Tracked and regularly reported on the activities of the Senate and House Banking and Financial Services Committees for clients.

Wrote a published treatise on macro-prudential indicators of financial crises and the development of early warning systems at the International Monetary Fund. Title: Averting the Next Financial Crisis: Improving International Monetary Fund Surveillance.
