In my first and second years of university, I was a mentor to year 12s and 13s who want to study dentistry. This involved talking to them and answering any questions they had, and also speaking to them in person on 2 events organized by R2P. These students were the first generation in their family to go to university, they had parents in non-professional occupations and had an annual household income of £42,875 or less. Assisting these students with their dental school applications was very rewarding for me because I knew that I was helping students who are currently underrepresented in dentistry, and I enjoyed teaching them how to write their personal statements.

Following my school work experience there, I was offered a job as they were impressed by my ability to solve problems, teamwork skills and enthusiasm. I have gained experience in speaking to customers, waiting on tables, making drinks and using multiple types of cash register.

Moved desks during examination periods. This involved precise work and allowed me to build upon my teamwork and punctuality skills.
