Supporting, facilitating, and coordinating the daily clinical trial activities of the Nuclear Cardiology Lab within the Corrigan Minehan Heart Center Clinical Research Program at Massachusetts General Hospital. Working with the PIs, department, sponsor, and institution to support and provide guidance on the administration of the compliance, financial, personnel, and other related aspects of many simultaneous clinical studies.

I spent my first 75 hours in the program volunteering on the in-patient floors, where I rounded and provided patients with crosswords, coloring, and books, as well as assisted nurses with answering call bells, restocking supplies, and delivering meals. I then applied and was accepted to work in the emergency departments, first at the Episcopal Campus and then at the Main Campus, where I assisted nurses and techs. Through these various settings, I observed the environments of inpatient floors, a small ED, and a large trauma center. This experience introduced me to a diverse array of patients and the realities of a hospital setting. I also observed the intricacies of care teams and how they function.

Augustinian and Culture Seminar Program Summer Research Grant is awarded yearly to one first-year Villanova student based on a grant proposal for an independent research project linked to a piece of literature read in their Ancients or Moderns course. My proposal, based on Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, surrounded the question, "What are the ethical bounds of technology?" I connected this question to current research on artificial womb technology and conducted a bioethical analysis of the issue. I presented my work in a ten-minute oral presentation at the student research symposium, which included my bioethical analysis of the issue and its potential implications for the future of society. This project introduced me to literary research and ignited my interest in bioethics.

Conducted market analysis on trauma centers within major US cities and rates of trauma, then presented report to North American board. Identified and networked with hospitals and doctors around the country who were candidates for implementation of Sectra software.
