About Erin Jimenez

I am an assistant professor. I study how zebrafish inner ears are able to regenerate hearing after damaging the hearing receptors. My long-term vision is to understand why some animals can regenerate and why others cannot. My lab specializes in genomics, genetics, high-throughput screening, hearing and deafness, and zebrafish. We also use the mouse model to understand barriers to hearing regeneration.
