Developed industrial controls systems from start to finish on custom machines. This included drafting electrical schematics, coding PLC programs, and commissioning machines in the field. Implemented over 30 unique projects for clients.

Coldwater, Michigan, United States

This position combined many different aspects of engineering to implement factory improvements. From proposal to commissioning, I worked with contractors to create and carry out designs. I worked to make sure our factory equipment met safety standards, one project at a time.

Madrid

Designed and simulated wireless power transfer circuit for electric vehicle charging. This was part of a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) sponsored by the National Science Foundation, and the position was located in Madrid Spain. The work was independent, with periodic reports. During my time there, I developed a highly efficient simulation circuit, through the help of my mentor. I obtained critical experience in testing, technical research, and optimization over the course of this program.

Muskegon

This internship taught me how to work effectively in an engineering firm, managing a project based workload. I quickly became proficient in ArcMap 10, using the software to update GIS water main records for the City of Muskegon. To specify, I learned how to analyze technical plans to determine relevant data, such as pipe age and material, making digital records reflect water main record plans stretching from 2018 back to the 1920's. Through this process, I maintained productivity and initiative while working independently, making regular progress reports. I also was flexible in my workload, taking on additional tasks as necessary. This included verifying construction measurements and taking records of site condition prior to construction.

West Michigan

This was a Mold Operator Position. Duties primarily consisted of running industrial injection molding presses, including quality control inspection and part packaging. Through my time there, I developed firsthand experience of life on a manufacturing floor. From material handling to quality control, I saw the many facets of mass production. This position taught me the importance of consistency, safety, and diligence. It also gave me a prime example of PLCs and HMIs at work.
