Over the decades, I have visited nearly every community in Alaska helping to solve issues with water & sewer, aviation, health and human services, and natural resource development. I specialize in motivating diverse teams to excel beyond their expectations. Areas of expertise include permafrost, ice engineering, and geotechnical explorations for oil and gas projects for ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, BP Exploration, ENI, Hilcorp, Caelus Energy, and Repsol E&P. Diverse project experience from designing and managing the construction of offshore ice islands for exploration drilling to geotechnical exploration for the first HDD in permafrost under an Arctic River. Currently leading a diverse design team for a $35 M Design-Build project for USCG Kodiak base Homeport of two offshore patrol cutters and two fast response cutters. Plus fire & building code analysis for complicated north slope project. I have led complex and technically challenging projects and motivate diverse teams and inspire excellence. Enjoyed years of piloting around remote Alaska and Canada until an ill-fated engine failure caused an unscheduled landing. Western medicine is truly amazing - rebuilding my spine with titanium. With determination, patience, and an awesome network of family and friends, I slowly transition from being paralyzed to walking and defying medical expectations. Today, I enjoy hiking, biking, and rowing (won 2 silver medals in rowing at the World Master Games in Italy.
