During this internship I spent three weeks working at the Geraldton Language Centre for the Indigenous Australian languages for the Mid-West/Gascoyne region. In this time I completed tasks such as creating language posters, transcribing audio scripts of interviews and working on the early stages of language learning apps. Additionally, I contributed to the execution of a major language exhibition that occurs every few years through administrative tasks. Throughout this time, I gained a greater appreciation for the importance of Indigenous language preservation and revival, and the amount of effort that is required to pursue those goals.
