I work exclusively in criminal law and domestic violence law. I regularly advocate on behalf of my clients in the Magistrates Courts of South East Queensland and also appear as solicitor-advocate on behalf of clients at sentencing hearings before the District Court. I believe every case is important - whether it is a traffic offence, drug charges or murder - and I aim to ensure that each client understands the process, their rights and is represented to a high standard throughout the criminal justice system. A significant aspect of my practice is domestic violence law and I regularly appear before Queensland's first specialised domestic violence court in Southport Magistrates Court defending applications and related criminal charges. I also have experience in criminal confiscations law - having worked with clients over the last five years to fight to regain their property. As lawyers, we get a special view of how stressful the court process can be and it is a privilege to be able to assist clients with their matters and alleviate some of that stress.

I commenced work with Potts Lawyers as a final year law student, after developing a love for criminal law and tutoring younger students in criminal law subjects.My decision to focus on criminal law came after participating in Griffith University’s Innocence Project, a pro-bono project that aims to free the wrongfully convicted. It was an amazing experience as we had an opportunity to witness first-hand the errors which can sometimes occur in our criminal justice system and learn how to make a difference. I commenced work at Potts Lawyers under the guidance of the Directors, providing exposure to a wide variety of criminal matters whilst completing my final qualifications.

I commenced work in the legal industry in a small country firm whilst completing my studies. This provided me with an opportunity to be exposed to a variety of areas of law including succession, estate litigation, property and some crime and allowed me to develop my client communication skills.
