As a Product Developer, I work closely with the Product Manager and Designers to validate and finalize designs into products. This requires being detail-oriented in both construction and communication throughout the development process and making sure that all deliverables are passed off and finished on time within each seasonal calendar. I evaluate whether the designs match the needs of the product brief and consumer, as well as make sure the fabric, hardware, and trims meet the fit-for-use guidelines for each product line. I keep in close contact with our merchandisers at our factory partners during the development stage and provide them with accurate and complete IPP, SMS, and Production Packages. I work with Product Management, Operations, Marketing, and Sales to make sure that the product is manufacturable and ready for the market. All of this is done while promoting the culture and integrity of the brand.Responsibilities include: - Collaborating with the Designer and Product Manager in order to meet the needs of a product.- Help with problem-solving and brainstorming to meet set goals.- Validating designs to the product brief.- Sourcing of materials. (fabrics, trims, hardware, etc.)- Working within the CAD system and making sure patterns are accurate.- Bill of Material creation and management.- Identify and document any construction details or methods and communicate them to the factories.- Create instructions and technical documents.- Create and manage product packages for the factory merchandising team.- Review of prototype samples and communication of changes.- Maintain communication with the factory merchandising team.- Help with product testing and feedback.- Traveling to contract factories yearly.During my time at Mystery Ranch, I worked as a Production Sewer, Manufacturing and Engineer Team member, and CAD Assistant before becoming a part of the Product Development Team as a Product Developer.
