• Supported the Deputy Administrator in the Office of Agreements and Scientific Affairs (OASA), FAS's primary trade policy office. • Acted as liaison between OASA and the FAS Office of the Administrator. • Managed the preparation of briefing materials for FAS & USDA senior leadership. • Prepared materials for agricultural trade advisory committee meetings.

• Represented USDA at bilateral and multilateral meetings and trade negotiations and at interagency Trade Policy Steering Committee meetings hosted by the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR).• Collaborated with U.S. industry, USTR, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and other USG agencies to develop strategies to resolve trade barriers faced by U.S. exporters. • Prepared tariff and trade data and negotiating guidance for Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiations, and represented USDA at negotiating rounds. • Examined trade laws and measures of Canada, Mexico, and Southeast Asian countries to determine compliance with trade agreements and the impact on U.S. agricultural exports. • Composed briefing materials for use by senior officials in trade negotiations, meetings with foreign governments, meetings with U.S. industry, and Congressional briefings. • Coordinated USDA's input to the World Trade Organization (WTO) Trade Policy Review processes for the United States and and other WTO Member countries.

• Coordinated within USDA and with other USG agencies to develop strategies to resolve trade barriers in South Asian countries, including India. • Prepared U.S. Agreement on Agriculture notifications relating to subsidies, market access, and food aid contributions for submission to the WTO. • Managed coordination of materials and collaborated with other USDA offices and USTR to prepare for WTO Committee on Agriculture meetings. • Effectively communicated complex business requirements for development of a trade issue-tracking system to computer developers with little knowledge of the business process.

• Executed several steps of production leading to publications of U.S. import and export price index data. • Reviewed sample trade data from USG agencies and conducted extensive research on American and foreign companies responsible for the trade. • Verified the economic reasoning (e.g., supply-demand or exchange rate effects) behind fluctuations in price index data. • Analyzed trade data classified under various trade classification systems and verified that price indexes trended as expected across the different systems.
