My career started in public health and human services, working with multiple vulnerable and medically underserved populations in both healthcare and research settings. I spent five years focused on harm reduction and intervention strategies among unhoused adults suffering from serious persistent mental illnesses. I then became a research assistant for projects focused on youth in foster care and analyzing early intervention strategies among children with high Adverse Childhood Experiences scores.I transitioned into more laboratory work during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.
