I built my career in a quickly growing Engineering Services Organization. If you have ever been in a budding organization with exceptional aspirations, you know the type of entrepreneurial spirt and founders' mentality that is cultivated in this setting. I have an inquisitive mind and I am a problem solver at heart. Starting early in my career in an environment such as this allowed my leadership and strategy building skills to grow rapidly. In the first year of my career, it was even noted that I “looked and smelled like a leader” by one of our customer’s top executives. It has come so naturally to me that I have trouble identifying it within myself. Where leadership is needed, I just act, organizing collaboration and cross-functional teams to determine actions, create a plan, track progress and measure our successes, all the while reporting status to numerous stakeholders. I’m not afraid to surround myself with those smarter than me and ask them millions of questions to better understand not just the solution, but the problem itself. My communication style has been proven to adapt and translate ideas and initiatives across diverse regions and cultures. My mentoring style of leadership has allowed many of my reports to find confidence in their mistakes and grow from great workers, to great leaders in their own right.
