Duties and responsibilities include:• Develop a Marketing Committee to assist with the planning, evaluation, and overall direction of the marketing, public relations and communication goals and strategies• Work closely with the Resource Development and Community Impact leaders to create a comprehensive and cohesive approach to the marketing, public relations, and communication goals of the organization.• Participate fully on the Senior Management Team to help direct overall strategic planning and decision-making for the organization.• Develop and implement a comprehensive year-round marketing, public relations and communications plan that differentiates the United Way brand, builds relationships with key audiences, and works to position United Way as a community impact organization.• Develop, execute, and coordinate special events that promote the United Way brand, foster a better understanding of United Way, provide media attention, attract volunteer involvement, provide recognition for UWSWA, donors, and companies, and raise funds and/or visibility• Serve as spokesperson for the organization, including representing the organization in the community, as needed.• Assure communications, public relations, marketing, and social media activities are in accordance with the policies, principles, and procedures, and are within budget.• Oversee design/production and quality of all print, electronic, and audio/visual material. • Responsible for the writing of articles and speeches as related to media and organizational events.• Plan and manage the design/development of the United Way website, including content, graphics, and other components as needed.• Supervises Marketing and Communication interns; manages the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this team.
