I have a passion for plants and this passion has led me on a wonderful journey through many countries and many sectors. My career has spanned herbalism, non-profit management, international development, the natural product industry, and academia. From my beginnings as a clinical herbalist, I pursued graduate work in ethnobotany and then spent nearly twelve years working with indigenous communities in areas of natural resource management and conservation, including medicinal plant conservation and sustainability. Bridging together my two passions, I then moved into the natural product industry focusing on sustainability, herbal science and research, and responsible botanical sourcing. I am an active member in professional organizations, including as a Board Member for the American Herbal Product Association. Through it all I have continued to enjoy sharing the wonder of plants through extensive speaking, teaching, and writing endeavors.
