This research aided in the successful application of the second grant in 2011. •First grant was funded by SAMHSA for 2008-2011 and was for $1.2 million for 3 years.•Second grant was funded by SAMHSA and Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) for 2011-2014 for $750,000 for 3 years. •Worked with DeKalb County to assess the sustainability of the Criminal Justice system through a grant with both Dr. Wendy Guastaferro and Dr. Dean Dabney. (Grant was for $198,730). •Used qualitative methods to assess probation officers’ experience and understanding of treatment recommendations for inmates at the Coastal Prison in Georgia. This included using qualitative data software such as NVivo and performing both qualitative data analysis and report writing. •Developed reports, presentations, and journal articles about the Coastal Prison project conducted through a grant by the Georgia Department of Corrections. Presented findings at academic conferences and meetings. •The grant was administered by the Georgia Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (2010-2013) for $207,718. Show less
