Senior Acquisition Manager
CurrentResponsibilities:- Manage a DoD contract providing acquisition and logistics support to DoN, supervising 6 employees. - Lead efforts to create decision-making tools and streamline processes for use between program (tech) and financial (non-tech) managers.- Manage ~$400M annually across 20 project areas, focusing on proactive allocation management. - Develop 10+ DoN budget submissions and program briefs annually to defend the President's Budget submission to Congress.- Analyze client's efforts to identify shortfalls, proactively generate budget requests for submission to Resource Sponsors at the Pentagon.- Successfully defended $1B during an 18-month DoN DAS,N deep dive of the new construction DDG re-start budget review.- Successfully defended $500M during a 12-month DoN deep dive of the CG Modernization program.- Executed funding to 50+ DoN Field Activities, University Labs, and industry partners.Skills:- Budgeting, cost estimating, analytical skills, process improvement using data and metrics, and public speaking.- Keen understanding of DoD budget development and defense to both Congressional Authorization and Appropriations Committees.- Familiarity with program management tools, techniques and software, including strong skills of breaking down tasks into a Work Breakdown Structure, simplifying roadmaps, establishing owners and timelines, and status reporting.- Understand strategic initiatives and drive them to a successful conclusion.- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.- Experience managing varied stakeholders and the ability move forward in the face of ambiguity and imperfect knowledge.- Ability to influence, negotiate with, and persuade others with strong interpersonal skills.
