Payroll Coordinator
As Payroll Coordinator, I oversaw processing for all clients that had opted into payroll services with the firm. I processed around sixty-five clients on varying pay cycles. I was also in charge of submitting tax payments through the payroll software, and when time came to submit all quarter-end or year-end tax forms. When new clients came onto our service, I was responsible for setting up their payroll portal, whether we would be processing it or the client would process their own. I would also apply for state tax account numbers if the client had not already attained those, and when the portal was ready, I would train clients on how to use the portal if they were going to be processing their own payroll. Through tax season, I also assisted the firm with setting up QuickBooks files for the members of the firms to perform books reviews in preparation for the client’s tax return. In this role, I learned quite a bit about the accounting world that I didn’t know before. This job was my first real delve into the world of QuickBooks, and I became quite proficient at using both the Online and Desktop versions. I also strengthened my skills in being a self-starter and being self-sufficient. As tax season was usually quite busy for the firm, being able to make decisions and know the best course of action without any assistance was critical to keep my day to day on track.
Payroll Service Specialist
As a Payroll Service Specialist, my duties changed a bit from my previous payroll jobs. Instead of processing payroll for a book of clients, I was instead supporting our Software-as-a-Service clients. All clients processed their own payroll, and I was there as back up for them should our software not act as it should. I processed any major changes to client’s employees such as Year-to-Date adjustments or voids of payroll checks. I was a liaison between our operations team and the client if any amendments need to be processed, or if a client needed to reverse any direct deposits to employees. I also spent a lot of time in contact with our tax team, communicating back and forth between that team and clients in regard to any tax notices they received. In this role, I strengthened my abilities in customer service and multi-tasking. Working out of both a phone and email queue with an uneven client to payroll specialist ratio made things hectic from time to time. Finding a way to manage my time to attend to both incoming phone calls and responding to client emails became a crucial skill. I had a great team of specialists around me that always worked to support each other through the tough times, and that strengthened my team work skills. I always did my best to be open and available to new hires still going through training processes, and even had a few new hires sitting with me on an extended basis to learn our system.
Payroll Specialist
As a Payroll Specialist, I processed payroll for eighty clients on varying pay cycles. Unlike my previous experience with Interlogic, Insperity is a professional employer organization (PEO), meaning that when clients come on board, all employees become employees of Insperity. This means that as a payroll specialist, it was my job to maintain compliance with federal and state laws for all of my clients to protect Insperity. I verified that clients were not only processing payrolls in a timely manner to coincide with ACH rules, but also that they were compliant with FLSA and regular rate of pay. I took all payroll related calls from my clients, and assisted them with learning to process via the online portal available to them.In this role, I learned quite a lot about the payroll world that I did not know before. I spent a little over a year here learning payroll regulations and the ins and outs of regular rate of pay. With more responsibilities to the client, I had to strengthen my multitasking and organizational skills. My customer service skills were used on a day to day basis to ensure that my clients remained happy and saw value in Insperity’s services.
Senior Payroll Specialist & Customer Service Representative
As Senior Payroll Specialist, I was responsible for processing the payroll of over one hundred companies on all varying cycles. Each morning I would come into work and contact my full list of clients due to process that day. I was responsible for entering all new hire information, any tax changes, creating and entering all insurance premiums, and keeping all direct deposit information up to date for both the employee and employer. I handled any incoming calls in relation to support of our online payroll processing component, and built personal relationships with each client. In this job, I learned the importance of and improved my abilities in multitasking and being organized. With so many clients, whom I was in constant contact with, it became very important to keep each client’s information organized so it could be updated correctly. I used my previously gained experience of customer relations to create meaningful and lasting bonds with clients to ensure they were always happy with the service they had received from us.
Junior Loan Officer
As a Junior Loan Officer, I was responsible for contacting individuals who had expressed interest in purchasing a vehicle. Upon making contact, I set up appointments for these customers to come in and meet with us. On their arrival, I was responsible for gathering all of their documentation of identity, residency, income and insurance. I would then place all of this information into our system for my Senior Loan Officer. In the case of the customer trading in a vehicle, I was also in charge of contacting the company which owned their loan for pay-off information. In this job, I learned the importance of and improved my abilities in customer relations. From the moment a customer stepped through the door until the moment they left in their new vehicle, I was responsible for keeping them updated on the status of their loan and their overall comfort and happiness with our company. As our Loan Officers operated with multiple Junior Loan Officers, I also learned the importance of working together to achieve the optimum goal not only for our company, but also for the customer.
