One of four Hewlett Foundation program officers who collectively make over $100 million in grants per year for climate change mitigation in the world’s highest carbon-emitting geographies (China, India, the EU, the US). Lead the $40 million US climate change portfolio, collaborating with funders, non-profit and for-profit leaders, and other partners to develop and support effective clean energy strategies. Shifted portfolio toward building broader and trans-partisan political will for emission reduction policies at state and national levels. • Founding Chair of Funder Steering Committee for the Kigali Cooling Efficiency Program, coordinating process to deploy $52 million commitment by 18 funders to help developing nations adopt energy-efficient cooling as they rapidly phase down HFCs. Potential to avoid ~1oC warming.• Co-Chair of Climate and Energy Funders Group Steering Committee, affinity group of ~70 foundations focused on achieving a clean and prosperous economy that protects human life and global ecosystems. Helped build consensus and alignment around common goals, and diversified board and annual meeting participants.• Founding Co-Chair of Climate and Clean Energy Equity Fund, re-granting organization focused on dispersing funds to grassroots, people of color-led, and low-income groups working on climate solutions. Brought in new funding to support $4 million grant-making portfolio. • With Energy Foundation, co-creating a new Women and Climate Initiative to raise new funds for climate solutions through a variety of women’s donor networks.• Helped create and provide seed funding for the Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity in Environmental Philanthropy (InDEEP) initiative in 2016. InDEEP engaged more than 100 environmental foundations and 350 staff in professional development and peer-learning webinars in-person events, increasing the cultural competency and impactful grant-making abilities of the sector.

Lead strategist on legislative, regulatory, and communications campaigns for strong climate and renewable energy policies in California and throughout the western United States.

Led statewide lobby effort through two sessions of the Texas legislature. Built and directed the Alliance for a Clean Texas—a coalition of 21 environmental, consumer, health, religious, and recreational groups.
