I apply my expertise in human nutrition and clinical study design to the nutraceutical space. I develop study protocols and comprehensive study reports according to ICH guidelines to position investigational products for success. Using current scientific literature, I promote novel study designs and outcomes for various indications for natural health products.

Effectively coordinated and managed a multi-site, multi-disciplinary human clinical trial involving 10 investigators. Developed all study protocols and supporting materials related to IRB proposals and amendments, ICFs, investigator and subject materials and nutritional supplement supporting documentation to obtain and maintain regulatory approvals from institution, FDA and Health Canada for clinical trials and dietary supplements. Manage budget and delivered financial reports and bi-monthly project summaries to study sponsor to ensure continuation of funding for research objectives. Conducted ex vivo and in vitro immunological assays examining the effect of iron supplementation on systemic and gut inflammatory markers. Involved in an animal study examining the effects of long term fruit and vegetables supplementation on immune function in aging.

Worked with the TuftsNow editorial team to write and publish stories about the diverse research at Tufts including epidemiological studies, clinical trials and study development. Communicated scientific publications and research to the general public through online and print media.

Developed all study protocols, IRB proposals and regulatory materials for a human clinical trial resulting in regulatory approvals from the institution and Health Canada. Formulated all training material and trained study personnel for continuity of clinical trial operations. Enhanced quality of clinical diets through dietary analysis and innovative problem solving which increased scientific integrity of the study and reduced expenses of food and dietary supplements.

Assisted in teaching of 3 undergraduate nutrition courses, monitored weekly discussions, evaluated oral presentations, term papers and exams. Designed course content and delivered weekly seminars and five lectures for two senior undergraduate classes ranging from 50-150 students.

Creative Encounters with Science is a non-profit organization that promotes science, technology, and engineering amongst youth in Guelph and surrounding communities. Conceptualized, prepared and presented in-school workshops, outreach programs and summer day camp programs.
