CurrentDesign and evaluation of commercially operating power plant and new nuclear technology systems components and equipment to meet structural, thermal-hydraulic, and neutronic performance requirements (e.g., ASME pressure boundary evaluations), including:-Seismic and thermal analysis of reactor structures, piping, and various plant equipment to support upgrades to existing systems and design of new structures using ANSYS, AutoPIPE, and ADLPIPE.-Thermal-hydraulic analysis to support the replacement of multiple safety significant chillers using EPRI GOTHIC software.-Neutronic analysis using Monte Carlo and deterministic methods to evaluate radiation shielding design and to establish a validation basis for a new reactor fuel type. Dose consequence evaluation to establish event consequences are within applicable dose limits.-Support of past operability and root cause evaluations for components, equipment, and structures found in off-nominal conditions (e.g., level beyond minimum setpoint, welds absent from turbine generator stator frame, actuator brush plate screws absent, pump shaft failure, piping leak) through transient and steady state analysis using fluid dynamics, thermal-hydraulics, structural, and thermal evaluation tools.
