Co-Founder And Capcom
Currently by contract, I make shareable content about people with game-changing ideas. After graduating from Syracuse University, I raised $15,000 to purchase and renovate an old school bus into a mobile studio. My two founders and I traveled across the country for an entire year making movies about entrepreneurs to help them with their growth and narrative storytelling. Check out our digital nomad movement at otpros.coAfter a year on the road, my founders and I decided to park in Syracuse, NY where we got our initial start. We took a year to give back to the community by co-producing a short film called "No Nuts." Locally casted and crewed, "No Nuts" is a romantic comedy that takes place at a summer camp for kids with peanut allergies. "No Nuts" stars 11 Syracuse youth who went through a 2-day workshop to learn about character development, current issues in the film industry, and how they could identify and amplify their individual voices on and off film. As a co-producer of "No Nuts" I was part of a team of 4 executive level women who raised $20,000 for the production of the short film. "No Nuts” is now streaming on Amazon Prime. My most recent film is called "Zoe and Hanh," and it is about a young woman caught in a lie by her suspicious mom. With tensions already high from recently losing a loved one, their relationship unhinges. "Zoe and Hanh" was selected for the SXSW 2020 Film Festival and was a Staff Pick on Vimeo.
Experiential Learning Program Manager
As an alumni of the program, I was responsible for student recruitment for the Information Technology, Design, and Startups Minor and the programs/classes within it. Over the course of a year, I recruited 20 students to register as IDS minors. I also filled IDS classes to their maximum capacity (40 students) for following semesters.I also worked closely with Julie Walas, Director of Student and Alumni Engagement, to facilitate experiential learning programs known as Immersion Experiences. On these programs, a select cohort of 20 students visit emerging business ecosystems all over the world including Silicon Valley and San Francisco, Seattle and Portland, Chicago, New York City, and most recently Dublin, Ireland.I was honored to run the application process, notify accepted students, facilitate orientation classes, and chaperone visits in select locations.
Content Marketing Manager
The StartFast Venture Accelerator is largest venture capital fund in Upstate New York. Five technology companies from around the world are selected for $25,000 of seed funding. My job was to document the growth of the teams, concepts, and innovations over the course of 12 weeks. Each week I sat down with a founding member of a StartFast company and asked them how they had grown throughout the week. Their responses were edited into a digestible weekly video blog which was posted on YouTube and sent out in the weekly newsletter.
Syracuse Marketing Manager
This was my first job at a startup! The CEO Nick Nickitas did a guest lecture at Syracuse University and I asked him if he offered internships and he said, "No, but we're hiring!" That was that. RosieApp amplifies small independent grocers by giving them an online shopping and home delivery option. In Syracuse, this was especially important because access to fresh food was pretty difficult, resulting in food deserts across the city. RosieApp addressed this problem and I was stoked to be a part of it.For 9 months I handled marketing strategy in the Syracuse area, social media content creation, and local brand awareness.
