I began my career in the mortgage industry out of college as a commissioned loan officer. At that time, the industry was much more intimate so while I wasn’t competing with the amount of lenders out there today, I competed face-to-face with the best in the business every day. I had very little training and learned most of what I knew on-the-job. The one lesson that has proven true through today is that providing excellent customer service matters. After moving to the small town of Hillsboro, Ohio, I found it necessary to move into the Operations side of lending. I was able to secure a position as a loan processor at a local institution. I loved working with the customer and putting together a loan package that presented them in the best light. I went on to positions that gave me experience in all aspects of origination: processing, closing, underwriting, even some shipping and post closing. I enjoyed learning all of these various positions and found it gave me a unique perspective as I could relate to the challenges of all of them. This truly benefitted me when I transitioned into management and became the liaison between Operations and all of those departments/functions.For the last 16 years, I have held the position of Operations Manager. Ops Manager has proven to b the most challenging position of my career but also the most rewarding. I have been fortunate to have mentors who have helped me develop into an effective manager and leader who can build and maintain an engaged team. I consider these to be life skills too.I can be contacted by phone 614-560-7421 or via email erinh915@yahoo.com
