Hello everyone! My name is Erin Bryce and I am a senior at Indiana University Indianapolis majoring in Communications with a minor in ASL. I will be graduating from IU Indianapolis in December of 2024. In April of 2023, I was inducted into the National Communications Studies Honors Society-Lambda Pi Eta, for my excellent academic achievements in the Communications department. I have struggled in school all my life and was honored when I received the email stating that I was nominated for this honors society. In October of 2022, I joined the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority, and shortly after joining, I obtained a position on the executive board as the VP of Finance. This position has taught me a lot of skills not only regarding how to handle money, but also how to handle difficult conversations regarding a topic that many people try to avoid. After my time of being the VP of Finance, I am currently serving on the Panhellenic Executive Board as the VP of Communications and love everything about this position. I love connecting with the Panhellenic community, along with the fellow members on the executive board. I am also interning with the IUI School of Liberal Arts Communication Dept. to run to Communication Studies Instagram. Along with this, I have additionally obtained a role as the Social Media Chair for The Communication Network (TCN) at IU Indianapolis. Since IU Indianapolis is not a traditional college, we do not have a homecoming. We have something that is called Regatta. Regatta is where we have canoe races on the canal in downtown Indianapolis. I was selected out of 39 people to be one of the 8 members on the Regatta Royalty court. I served as an ambassador for not only Regatta, but also for IUPUI, the weeks leading up to Regatta and also on the day of. I would inform students and other members of the IUI or Indianapolis community about Regatta and how they can be involved.From all of these experiences I have had, time management is something that I have had to figure out so I can be successful in each and everything that I do and am involved in on campus. I believe that these real world skills that I am learning in and outside of my positions will set me up for great success in the workplace.
