Active member of the Conservative Party, worked directly for leading members of the local council and local MP, Edward Leigh to assist developing local government. Experience included council meetings, campaigning and organizing fundraising events for local schools. In addition, asked to run for local office because of my dedication to creating a sustainable future for local government.

As a PhD student in the International Relations department at Keele University, taught undergraduates and set modules for two years. Instructed Media & Politics in Contemporary Society to 105 students, also taught the Politics of Eurasia to approximately 80 students. Responsibilities with this position included preparing weekly lectures complete with handouts, in-class work and workshop material. Maintained weekly office hours to encourage students with difficulties to receive extra support. This experience gained recognition from both students and fellow lecturers following the success of the modules given.

Functioned within the Associated Parliamentary Group for Design & Innovation chaired by British MP Barry Sheerman (Lab). Position raised my awareness of design and innovation within the British Parliament. Responsibilities included tackling a range of issues such as: education, healthcare, crime prevention, business, environment and transportation, researched and drafted public relations and marketing proposals, clerical, administrative and organizational tasks. Through this research recognized for contributing to a Parliamentary White Paper on Sustainable Development in England. From this experience, acquired a sound understanding of inter-party relations, stakeholder requirements to sanction major develop strategies, parliamentary processes and procedures.

Interned and volunteered for Alaska’s Governor Frank Murkowski’s successful campaign for Governor during the 2002 Alaskan Elections. Acted as director of youth outreach for the Republican Party of Alaska at the University of Alaska, Anchorage. Campaign helped focus on furthering my knowledge of American Politics, leadership and how to create a sustainable future for the citizens of Alaska. The skills acquired from this experience equipped me with the ability to analyze and interpret a wide variety of geopolitical issues, built confidence with organizing large groups of people, while maintaining a holistic flexible viewpoint. Developed essential leadership and communication skills.

Worked in Prudhoe Bay for the summer operating various pieces of heavy equipment in rebuilding the mainline roads from different plant facilities within Prudhoe Bay on the North Slope of Alaska. This experience illustrated to me that I am able to work successfully in very different environments, both geographically and physically.
