The Joint Marketing Group (JMG) is an initiative of Australian Grape & Wine and Wine Australia and acts as an advisory committee to both bodies. The JMG is represented by small, medium and large producers and representatives across the broad range of states and regions. Nick Waterman is the Independent Chair, and the members have the appropriate qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience to assist the JMG in discharging its responsibilities.The JMG provides advice to Wine Australia and to Australian Grape & Wine with respect to the marketing, tourism and promotional priorities of the Australian grape and wine sector and Wine Australia strategies to deal with them.

I am at the forefront of the Australian Government's industry engagement with special focus on the wine sector, advising Australian exporters on market diversification initiatives, identifying market opportunities through Australia's Free Trade Agreements, and management of Non-Tariff Barriers (NTBs). I have received commendation from the former Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment on my comprehensive analysis of the impacts of global trade developments on South Australian exporters. I collaborate closely with contacts at Austrade, DAWE, SA DTI and Tradestart to ensure a whole-of-government approach to business engagement, and have worked with multiple minister's offices on critical issues.

- Project management of all strategic policy, budgetary, contractual and administrative processes for a year-long program of Australian Government Ministerial visits to Chile for APEC meetings.- Development of close working relationships across multiple sectors with Chilean Government officials, foreign diplomatic counterparts, and Australian Government agencies.- Direct supervision of between 2-7 local staff.

- Represented the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade at twelve trilateral negotiations between the Australian Government, the Timor-Leste Government and major mining sector companies.- Regular stakeholder consultation with large oil and gas companies (ConocoPhillips, ENI, Inpex, Santos)- Close cooperation and network building across federal government agencies.- Preparation of submissions to Cabinet and letters to Ministers resulting in a successful cabinet process to close the Joint Petroleum Development Area (JPDA) in the Timor Sea.

As the Australian Consulate-General's economic and political policy officer I worked directly with senior management to develop Australia's strategic agenda in southern Vietnam - reorienting to focus on business engagement and trade advocacy in Vietnam’s commercial capital – amplifying Australia’s influence with government and commercial leaders. I engaged in and reported extensively on trade and investment opportunities for Australian business, and Australia’s involvement in multilateral trade organisations and agreements, informing strategic policy decisions. My extensive project and stakeholder management skills led the flagship trade advocacy 'Taste of Australia' program in Vietnam (facebook.com/tasteofaustralia.vn). I was key to the program’s inception and managed its growth over three years to 80 national events by 2018.I fostered over 100 private sector partnerships, managing cash sponsorships from State Governments and multinationals. I successfully delivered on contractual agreements, ensuring partnerships amplified the program’s objectives, fulfilled stakeholders’ KPIs, and endure for future years. My excellent organisational and coordination skills, ability to develop and leverage large networks, and sheer dedication was recognised by senior management, stakeholders and partners as integral to the program’s success. As a member of the AusCham Vietnam board I engaged regularly with Australian business as both a source of market intelligence and as trade advocacy partners.
