My work is focused on making sure that businesses and systems treat everyone fairly, especially people in the toughest situations. As the CEO of the Consumer Policy Research Centre, I lead a team of researchers and policy experts to understand and advance ideas for equitable and fair markets for all Australians. I am a big believer that no one achieves anything alone. I have worked with teams and coalitions to drive meaningful reforms. My highlights are the campaigns that made essential 1800 numbers free to call from mobile phones, banking reforms that made it easier for people to cancel harmful high-cost credit and stopping “robo-debt for renting”, where insurers were auto-billing people who rent for damage they didn’t cause.
