Crandall Independent School District is a 4-A school district fully accredited by the Texas Education Agency. CISD serves students in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade and is located in Crandall, Texas in the southwest portion of Kaufman County. As the Director of Communications, I manage communications between the district and our external audiences, including media outlets. I serve as the spokesperson for the district and function as the Public Information Officer in emergency and critical situations.My primary focuses include developing and fostering two-way communication between the school district and our constituencies; creating awareness and building support of the school district's mission and goals; articulating programs, services, events and activities; and promoting student achievement utilizing all effective means of communication.Selected Accomplishments:-Awarded the 2020 Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) Bright Idea award for work on nationally acclaimed PR podcast, School PR Happy Hour-Selected as National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) top 35 under 35 in 2018.- Passed 2017 bond for $125 million at an approval rate of 77%-Appointed as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee for TSPRA (statewide school PR organization)-Awarded 7 awards at the 2018 Texas School PR state conference, included two finalists for Crystal Awards for work in Crandall ISD during the 2016-2017 school year.-Awarded 6 awards at the 2019 Texas School PR state conference, including a best of category award and a finalist for Crystal Award for work in Crandall ISD during the 2017-2018 school year.

As the Director of Communications and Outreach for the DFW Cluster of Harmony Public Schools I directly support the outreach efforts for all 13 schools on local, state and federal levels. My focus is to ensure that each of our 13 schools in DFW has a unique presence in both the media and the community, while positively promoting the vision of Harmony Public Schools as a whole, and furthering beneficial relationships and opportunities for our students. I create and support strategic communication plans for each school, directly support the social media platforms for the cluster and make visits to government officials at the state and federal levels. I create training programs for the coordinators that report in to me and support them through their work at the city and local government levels as well as building relationships with members of the media and gaining positive press for our organization.

I handle the social media and marketing for the small business jointly owned between my husband and myself. With McCann renovations we have advertised and gained followers across social media platforms, worked closely with the graphic artists at Twig LLC and advertised in publications such as The Advocate. Our company also sponsored a hole at the inaugural Fionn MacCumhaill golf tournament in November 2013.

As a Talent Recruitment Strategist I managed the recruitment efforts for the largest charter management organization in DFW, delivering recruiting success throughout the organization. I implemented strategic planning and partnerships through my relationships in the community and at the collegiate level. I maintained and leveraged my communication skills with my monthly new hire newsletters, my implementation and successful relaunch of an employee referral program as well as served as the social media lead for my team.By reporting both directly and indirectly to a team of 30 directors, I leveraged my leadership skills in order to best serve each director’s communication styles and needs. I made communicative decisions on a strategic level. By analyzing data, implementing targeting marketing and effectively incorporating feedback, I ensured that branding decisions were made in such a manner as to best further goals and plans. Selected Accomplishments:  As Talent Recruiter, I spearheaded bringing an exciting partnership to Uplift as part of my relationship I built with Harvard . Harvard launched a teacher prep program in 2016 that partners future teacher candidates and Urban Charter Schools. Uplift was selected as a first year partner for this exciting program. Selected to be a part of Uplift Aspiring Leaders Program's third cohort for leaders within the organization. Social Media and Communications for the recruitment team – as the communications lead for my team, I managed our social media postings across multiple platforms as well as led the development of our new hire communication newsletter. Relationship building – I created and strengthened partnerships with my Universities through classroom presentations, information sessions, informal meetings, and partnerships with the IFC and PanHellenic Councils. Data Tracking - I tracked my hire data to critically evaluate trends and best practices and implement those in future hiring cycles.

As a Kindergarten Instructor, I was responsible for 20 students at a time. I taught, assessed and tracked data for the growth of my scholars.Selected Accomplishments: *Identified as one of Uplift Education's Top Performers for the 2011-2012 academic year.*Second highest ITBS growth in the network for Kindergarten scholars for the 2011-2012 academic year*Selected by Director to be part of the "ACE curriculum team," and build new scope and sequence as well as quarterly assessments - summer 2011.* Special Services Team. I led a general education based panel from Fall 2008-Spring 2012. This board was responsible for the recommendation and decisions on testing for general ed students into Special Populations. * Certified EC-4* TELPAS Certification* 2011 Washington Post ranked Peak Preparatory the 12th best public school in the nation!

News Director, Co-Anchor, Spot Reporter August 2004- December 2006Delivered a twice weekly 30 minute newscast to Huntsville, Texas and surrounding areas. I developed new contacts and provided new story ideas daily. I was evaluated on my broadcast writing ability, voice quality, diction, timing/pacing and performance techniques.
