As the former Research Director at the American Political Science Association (APSA), I led and managed the research activities and projects of the organization, which aims to advance the study and teaching of political science, and to serve the public good and social justice. I collaborated with diverse stakeholders and partners, communicated complex findings and insights to various audiences, and empowered the political science community with relevant and timely knowledge and resources.I have a PhD in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh, and more than six years of experience in computational social science, qualitative research, and social sciences. I have designed and conducted innovative and rigorous research on topics such as political grievance, social media analytics, constitutional rights, and Kurdish autonomy, using various methods and datasets. I have multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and books, as well as a doctoral dissertation that explored the interaction between domestic and international factors and the resilience of semi-authoritarian regimes, with a specific focus on Turkey. I speak/ understand intermediate Turkish and English, and have received a Critical Language Scholarship from the US Department of State, as well as having completed an internship at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies in Germany. I am passionate about advancing the knowledge and practice of political science, and contributing to the public good and social justice.
