-Provide information and guidance on academic related issues, such as graduation requirements, degree exceptions, major exploration, course planning, registration, and transfer credit evaluation.-Interview and screen prospective academic advisors throughout departmental staff hiring.-Enhance student academic progress by evaluating needs and developing appropriate academic plans.-Refer students to relevant campus resources to assist with overcoming learning obstacles, accessing tutoring, and receiving additional assistance with career advisement. -Manage Engineering Scholars Program of approximately 20 students within the Kahlert School of Computing, which consists of planning monthly meetings, networking opportunities, field trips with industry partners, and connecting students with faculty mentors to perform research. -Developed and deployed a formal department-wide evaluation process for students to provide advisors immediate post-appointment feedback. -Oversee departmental student academic progress processes such as third-attempt petitions, transfer evaluations, outreach events, probation/suspension, major maps, and four-year plans. -Communicate information to the campus-wide academic advising community relating to major specific information through PowerPoint presentations. -Represent the Kahlert School of Computing at recruitment and outreach events both on and off campus.

Blacksburg High School

-Advised students during the course registration process, while ensuring all students are on track to meet graduation requirements.-Presented and communicated information to students and families during Academic and Career Planning Night and Post-Graduation Planning Night.-Created improvement plans for students identified as not on-track to meet graduation requirements.-Utilized student attendance, grades, and behavior data to develop strategies and intervention plans in coordination with administrators, faculty, and staff. -Advocated on behalf of students who are experiencing non-academic related difficulties.-Collaborated with students to create career plans that align with post-secondary interests.-Supported upperclassmen students throughout the post-graduation process via one-on-one meetings.-Evaluated transcripts of new students and transfer student enrollments.-Counseled students individually, both in-person and virtually, related to concerns of academic, social, and emotional needs.-Referred students to outside counseling resources, as needed.-Coordinated the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT) annually for approximately 400 students.
