Product Director - Massmotion
MassMotion is a pedestrian simulation toolset for designing and optimizing high occupancy facilities. It the world's most advanced system of its kind featuring 3D environments, automatic way-finding, discrete event logic and much more. MassMotion is designed for the creation and execution of large scale (100,000+ individuals) 3D crowd simulations. It is a stand-alone product that integrates with BIM design processes using the open Industry Foundation Classes format. The MassMotion toolset has been successfully applied to the some of the most demanding pedestrian environments in the world including mass-transit stations, performance venues, airports, and stadiums. MassMotion enables users to make informed design and operational decisions. When the agents are placed in the 3D environment and assigned goals, their behavioural profiles impel them to make a series of choices and execute actions that will lead them to their goals. This approach allows MassMotion models to exhibit the kinds of emergent phenomena that occur every day in the real world. For example, agents that have the ability to recognize congestion and to consider alternate routes based on their familiarity with an environment will adapt their decisions to their current situation. Other systems that rely on user defined proportions of use on routes can replicate existing scenarios, but cannot realistically predict the utilization of proposed scenarios. MassMotion with its calibrated approach to modeling behaviour patterns can effectively simulate both existing and proposed scenarios.Who should use it? Planners, architects, engineers or anyone else who needs to understand crowd behaviour in order to make design and operational decisions. MassMotion provides truly predictive simulation of 3D pedestrian environments based on the emergent properties of autonomous agent crowds.
