My name is Erinn Mckine and I am a graduate of Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor's in Interactive Design. I enjoy Interactive Design because it combines a lot of the things I have grown to love. Art, technology, user-centered design, and more. I realize that classes like Interaction Design I and Visual Design have made me even more passionate about this degree. Interaction Design has given me a better understanding of user-centered design and why it is so important. In order to know what best suits a user you need to understand how they think, feel, behave, etc. Visual Design I has helped me to reignite my passion for design, but it has also made me more inclined to understand the importance of being able to explain designs to future customers or team members (for example). It has also helped me gain more knowledge about the importance of being able to critique others' work to help them understand what they can improve on to create better designs.As a team member, I would say I am mainly a motivator and a creative spark. I call myself a motivator because I like to encourage people when they are in need of a boost. In regards to the workplace, I want to be able to motivate my team members as best I can so they feel as if they can give 100% of their effort to the tasks they’ve been given. I also feel like I am a creative spark because I always have a lot of ideas in my head, it’s all about bringing those ideas to life and putting purpose behind them. As a creative spark, I would be a great asset in coming up with new and innovative ideas for projects, meetings, and more.In the past, I have mostly done a lot of volunteer work like giving out food/toiletries to the homeless and working at a pet care center near my house. With each, I have had to learn how to deal with different kinds of people. I learned the importance of communicating and doing so effectively. Sometimes you'll have to shift your communication style to fit the people’s/ customer’s needs. I want to be a part of a successful team that collaborates and flows well together to complete major assignments/projects for the company. I would be most interested in a comfortable and spacious environment, rather than one with a closed-in traditional office job feel. Corporate values that would align with mine would be the creation of products and/or services that are made by and for users. I find it important that wherever I am working, I know that the main intent is to build and create things that genuinely satisfy the people around me.
