Teaching Ruby on Rails web development, starting with the inaugural cohort at Flatiron School Seattle! We teach an immersive software engineering program, spanning 15 weeks of in-person learning. We are relentlessly focused on student success, and offer a tuition guarantee (so students who are unable to find jobs in the field are refunded their tuition). In my capacity as a software engineering coach, my primary responsibility was answering student questions about their lab and project work. I also delivered lectures, provided feedback, organized events, and made contributions to the curriculum (which is shared across ten campuses from Denver to London). I worked on a three-member instructional team for my cohort of twenty students, within a larger campus of five concurrent staggered cohorts (i.e. 15 instructors and 100 students overall). I'm excited to be a part of Flatiron School's reimagining of computer science education!

Lakeside School is a private college prep school that offers summer school classes for students who want to get ahead or create space in their schedules for additional electives. I taught the summer course in Computer Science I, the equivalent of a 1-semester high school class taught in Python.I designed, taught, and graded all course materials for 18 students ranging in grade level from rising freshmen to rising seniors. I also included feedback mechanisms so I could rapidly adapt to student needs over the considerably condensed summer time frame. As someone with an affinity for hackathons, I held a four-hour in-class "hackathon" for students to work on their final projects.
