I have always loved theater for the empathy it brings to audiences. I love diving head-first into a piece of theater, whether it be musical or not, to find the deepest humanity in these peoples stories, to then find in me how to best bring these stories to others. And if audiences can take something back from my hard work, whether that be big or small, I feel I’ve done my job. I love working as an actor. The complete freedom to take ahold of your creativity and try something new, even if it fails, is so freeing. You just get back up, take a new look at it, and try again. I know that there are hundreds in this community with this shared passion for theater. I hope to connect with them so that I can continue doing my work. Whether that be through furthering my education through classes or internships, or even jobs that get me on the stage to bring stories to others, I know that theater is a shared community and I’d love to be a part of it. As a theater educator I also find it extremely important to bring what I have learned back to the community. Starting at a young age I interned as a camp counselor and dance instructor, and soon had my own musical theater troupe performing across the Seattle area. Theatre education can be so important for a child's development. It brings me so much joy to see my students expressing themselves, building confidence, and learning about life outside of their own. My goal as a theatre educator is to bring my passion for acting to students, showing them a wider view of the human condition and the world around them.
