Part of the non-profit/charitable world for 20 years, I find great personal value in being able to contribute to the greater good in both my professional life and my personal life in my volunteer work. My volunteer experience extends to leadership roles as part of the Board of Directors for The Arthritis Society Durham Chapter and PFLAG Canada Durham Region, as well as Gala Committee Chair two years in a row for the latter. I was extremely proud to participate in the #We Believe You project with the Durham Rape Crisis Centre (DRCC), and contributed further to DRCC and sexual assault survivors via a stint as a Peer Support volunteer worker and providing meditation instruction geared to those who have experienced the trauma of sexual assault/abuse. My volunteer commitments extend to serving as the co-organizer, meditation guide and facilitator for Oshawa Community Meditation.
