Responsible for the overall management and operations of the Department of Planning, which includes staff and projects involved with comprehensive planning, platting, development review, tideland leasing, mapping, and capital improvement planning. Provides professional expertise to the Planning Commission, Platting Board and the City Council.

Managed the Long Range Planning Division in the Department of Planning and Sustainability, which included staff and projects involved with Franklin's sustainability, long range planning, and historic preservation initiatives.

Maintained and interpreted the Land Use Plan and Central Franklin Area Plan as the Long Range Planner; Represented the City of Franklin on the Technical Coordinating Committee and Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee of the Nashville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization; Served as the project manager in long range planning for annexations, zoning and plans of service as well as annual development report and other planning documents.

Served as project manager for the Planning and Zoning Administrative Manual. Served as project manager in current planning for numerous plats, development proposals and rezoning requests submitted monthly. Responsible for preparing items and for providing recommendations for consideration by Franklin Municipal Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals.

Served as project manager for Franklin's 2004 and 2006 Special Census. Provided staff support to the Tree Commission and preformed landscape inspections. Responsible for assigning and maintained all addresses in the city limits of Franklin.

Developed seminars and presentations on topics including urban water systems, land use and zoning, greenways, and brownfields for adults. Organized programs for school aged children focusing on the urban environment.

Participated in a one year commuinty service program as part of a team of thirteen that traveled throught the east cost for projects ranging from two weeks to two months in length. Projects included offering logistical support for Hurricane Floyd relief effort with FEMA in Grifton, North Carolina; arranging for community events with the Village of Arts and Humanities in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and developing after school and tutorial programs with Washington, DC charter and public schools.
