Led the Center for Green Schools' volunteer engagement efforts and other community partners in support of USGBC's mission, driving participation in Center initiatives, and developing programs that grew the size and participation of supportive communities, volunteer networks and partner organizations. By building expertise, disseminating knowledge, and establishing relationships with key community leaders, organizations, and other stakeholders, I guided the role of these and other partners in the execution of the Center’s programs and use of its resources.

Provided ongoing support to USGBC's largest community-driven program: Green Apple Day of Service. Overseeing the development and implementation of this international initiative, worked with the Center for Green Schools team to reach thousands of communities, partner organizations and individuals committed to transforming schools to be healthy, high-performing sustainable places to learn and teach. This included hosting webcasts for international audiences, in-person speaking engagements, goal-setting and strategic planning, partnership outreach, development and maintenance, and internal leadership to meet goals and secure support from senior staff. Managed a network of volunteers that reached more than 3,000 people in USGBC’s Chapters through regular webcasts, emails and phone communications, as well as the management of an annual grant program and all programming of a three-day planning retreat.

Served as the organization's program leader for a national network of sustainability advocates supporting green schools. Through monthly webcasts, regular emails, in-person engagements, and an annual retreat, I built this volunteer program into USGBC's most successful Chapter-based initiative. Presented to a variety of national audiences on the benefits of green schools Supported the Center for Green Schools' communications efforts, contributing to leading education and construction industry trade publications.

Coordinated all details of intensive workshop series for those interested in starting a public charter school, edited and reviewed the development of charter applications as part of comprehensive startup program, assisted in planning of DC Public Charter Schools’ 10th Anniversary Celebrations and Pioneer Reception, assisted with legal advocacy work before the DC Board of Education, DC Council, and US Congress, maintained office library of relevant newspaper articles, correspondence, and charter applications, managed administrative duties, and maintained website and list serves.
